We inspire people to protect nature by sharing indigenous wisdom

Indigenous People First Ethno-tourism Travel Agency

They Make The Rules!

We do NOT shape indigenous communities, nor do we create experiences for tourists. As travelers, we mold ourselves to the indigenous communities. We ask for permission to enter their territory and respect their customs, beliefs, and worldview. They make the rules.

We Guarantee a Fair Payment

Indigenous communities don't work for us; we work for them. We eliminate intermediaries to guarantee fair payment. We dignify their work and aim to reduce their migration to big cities in order to keep protecting 80% of our biodiversity.

We Seek to Learn From Them

Learn about their connection with nature, their respect for living beings, and their way of perceiving the world and progress. Did you know the World Bank says indigenous communities safeguard 80% (EIGHTY PERCENT!) of the planet's biodiversity?

I arrived late but they accomodated me well. Guide suggested my taxi take us up hill to save time and it is really up the hill and at high altitude @2600 m so taxi really helped. Still got a nice walk around their villagr and good explanation of their world view in communal hut. As a bonus my young guide told me why the muisga skeleton in the bogota gold museum had her wrists tied and put up under her chin. Skeleton was bundled in a bag and I thought it was to prevent her getting out of woven sack and roaming as ghost.Nope. She was buried in fetal position and placed back in mother earth like baby. Also he told me what some pictographs I had seen at El Abra day before meant. Not touristy and good iour if you like to learn native lore as I do.

Our guide was from one of the four Indigenous communities in the Tayrona area and was such a great insight to traditions and culture. We got more information than we would have going alone. this tour is great value for money. Please bring cash to tip the guide also as they are great. I wouldn't recommend this tour if you don't speak Spanish as the guides don't speak any English.

Excellent work by Nicolás and Kalaira! We took the tour of the gold museum guided by Adolfo from the Kogi people and I was truly blown away by all the knowledge that was shared with us. The explanations were deep, clear and enriching. This whole experience leads to reflection on our identity and on the spiritual work that indigenous peoples carry out to care for our Mother Earth. Kalaira really thinks and creates experiences of great value and from a conscious and human tourism. Highly recommended your service!

I really like it! It's a mixture between a spiritual experience and a touristic one. We were impressed with the wisdom and dedication they had. I greatly recommend it for anyone interested in getting in touch with the pre-Hispanic roots of Colombia and Latin America overall . I would love to go back with more people!

Excellent experience from the point of view of a Kogi indigenous, explaining the differences between the interpretation of the use and symbology of the museum objects, which anthropologists and archaeologists made and still do, versus the own experience and history that the indigenous people have today in day about them. Totally recommended, especially knowing that you are contributing to the benefit of these communities, supporting their studies in Bogotá.

The best explanation to tour the Gold Museum. It is very worth it to understand and recognize our indigenous heritage, our history as a country and more from the hand of a member of the Kogi community. I loved! I completely recommend it.

The visit to the Gold Museum in Bogotá guided by an indigenous person was a truly enriching and memorable experience. From the moment we arrived at the museum, the cultural atmosphere and sense of history enveloped the entire place. The presence of our guide, who shared his knowledge and wisdom about the richness of pre-Columbian culture, added a unique value to the visit. The indigenous guide demonstrated deep respect and connection with the pieces exhibited in the museum, which allowed us to understand the deep relationship that indigenous peoples have with their cultural heritage. His explanations about the symbology of the pieces, the goldsmithing technique used and the worldview behind each artifact were truly fascinating. What impressed us most was the way the guide shared his cultural heritage with us. Not only did he limit himself to historical information, but he also invited us to reflect on the importance of preserving indigenous traditions and respect for nature. Furthermore, the guide showed great skill in answering our questions and was genuinely interested in hearing our impressions. His warmth and patience made the tour very enjoyable and he left us feeling like we had had an authentic and meaningful experience. The choice of having an indigenous guide for this visit to the Gold Museum was the right one, since his presence allowed us to give a deeper and more authentic perspective to our experience. It was a cultural encounter that exceeded my expectations and left me with a greater appreciation for the history and cultural diversity of Colombia. I recommend this option to anyone who wants to learn first-hand from the voices and perspectives of indigenous peoples.
