Kalaira busca ser el marketplace de etnoturismo más grande del mundo. Ofrecemos experiencias que inspiran a los viajeros a proteger la naturaleza, compartiendo en cada una de ellas sabiduría indígena directamente de sus relatores ancestrales. Kalaira significa jaguar en Wayuunaiki, el lenguaje de la comunidad indígena Wayúu, la más grande de Colombia. El jaguar tiene importancia ancestral en muchas comunidades indígenas, además, es el felino más grande y el carnívoro más fuerte de todo América. Es una especie sombrilla, vital para conservación de todo el ecosistema que habitan. Representamos la fuerza y la grandeza de las comunidades indígenas a través del jaguar.

En su artículo Economic Development and Environmental Conservation: Evidence from Eco-Tourism, Santiago Saavedra plantea evidencias de cómo el ecoturismo puede ayudar a no sólo hacer turismo sostenible, sino generar un impacto positivo en la naturaleza a través del turismo.
